So a flashing globe appears when I start my machine. When I try to start in safe mode is still doesn't work. The only way I can get my machine started is by holding down "option" what comes up is a lock a space and an arrow But my password doesn't work
I ALSO TRY boot from the CD
nothing works i did the C KEY THE X KEY THE R AND P KEY

CAN SOME ONE HELP ME please

The flashing globe means your startup disk has been set to "Network", meaning your computer is trying to boot from a NetBoot image somewhere (that probably doesn't exist). The fix is to change the Startup Disk preference pane back to your hard drive.

The Lock/Space/Arrow screen is the open-firmware password screen. Your computer has had an open-firmware password installed on it, and the only way around it is to input the correct password (or gain physical access to the inside of the machine to add/remove RAM).

Force Removing Password Protection

1) Add or remove DIMMs to change the total amount of RAM in the computer.

2) Then, the PRAM must be reset 3 times. (Command + Option + P + R).
