Garbled Screen

I have a 20" 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo imac with Leopard 10.5.5. Every so often when I click on Connect to Server to access a network share, the suddenly screen becomes messed up like in the following screenshot: http://img396.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture1dp9.jpg . If I drag a window across the screen, it clears up the garbled section like an eraser and then everything returns to 'normal'.

I checked the Console and nothing alarming shows up in any of the logs related to the video card, memory, or anything else I can think of that might be related & causing this. Other than this 'connect to server' issue, I don't have any other problems with the video display.

Any suggestions or tips I should try to remedy this?

Apple has acknowledged that some Nvidia graphics chips used in their portable and desktop computers have issues/problems. As far as I know, the iMacs use graphics chips that are basically "laptop" graphics chips -- unlike the other Mac desktops, which use "desktop"-style graphics chips.

If the computer is still under warranty, I'd say make an appointment online or over the phone with your closest Apple store... take your receipt and any documentation proving the existence of the problem. A video or photograph of the problem would also help -- and, even better, being able to reproduce the problem in front of a tech would be solid.
