Globe Appears during boot

I have an IMAC 2.16GHz, 2GB RAM. Ever since I installed 10.6.3, I get a globe that appears for > 1 min before getting the apple. Boot times wre supposed to be improved with Snow Leopard, mine went the other direction. Any ideas?

The globe shows that your Mac is looking for network boots. Eventually, it times out and finds your hard drive. Your hard drive needs to be selected as the boot device. Go to your System Preferences, then Startup Disk. Select your hard drive by clicking its icon.
That should eliminate the long boots, as it won't try to default to the network boot.
