Guest account???

iMan

?¿?
I just installed Panther and I always like to have a guest account that anyone can use so they won't mess my computer up, but in panther when i typ in 'guest' as an name for an account it tells me it already exists? What's up with that can't you create a account with the name 'Guest'????
Any one know a work around or what's wrong??

Thanks
Viktor

I read that OS X won't allow the word 'guest' as an account name.

sudo /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ Disc\ 1/System/Installation/Packages/Essentials.pkg/Contents/Resources/CreateSystemUsers / / / /
The work-around is to use something else
How about 'visitor' or 'visiting' or 'customer' or 'friend' or 'antidisestablishmentarianist' (might be too long??) :)

There is a default class of Non-user account named Guest (In English – which is why the german word for Guest CAN be used), therefore it does not allow this as a User account name (an account used by a human, as opposed to a user class that is part of the machine).
