Guitarists Using Macs...

Are there any guitarists on the board using Macs for Guitar playing/mixing/writing? What specs is your Mac at? And do you use Garage Band or something else? (like the Line6 GuitarPort)

hiya

im using g4 733 mbox and pro tools LE at 6.4 but being honest I find it best to use mic'd up amps to record.

occasionally I find Protools hangs (cpu) after many plugins for about 10 tracks - so Im upgrading to to g5 1.8mhtz.

Tell about the line 6 hows that working for you ? might give one a go if

Well you plug your guitar into the "guitarPort" and you pluf the guitarport into the mac (via USB) then you can use headphones. It get's incredible tone, but I haven't really tried their recording software. (I would reccomend you use some nice big floor speakers (like from a stereo system) (this is safe becuase it turns the guitar signal into a media signal)

I have seen musicians like Roger Adler use GarageBand to great affect. Just check out his excellent Garage Album. It sounds like it was made in a studio.

Also check out the iGuitar. I also heard it is good also.
