Hard Drive (and controller) Compatability Question

Hello everyone,

Just wondering if someone can tell me if a particular hard drive and controller would have any issues being dropped in a G4 QS. Here's a link to a nice deal that I might take advantage of. It only lists PC compatability, but the rep on the phone said that as long as the system is ATA-133 it will work fine. Just wondering if this is true and any opinions you might have regarding this.

Not true. It has to be a Mac compatible card, and they don't list the specs for the card.

The hard drive is fine, with the correct card.

Just make sure, if you buy a Serial ATA drive, you get a Serial ATA card. The ATA cards won't work with a Serial ATA drive.

I have had nothing but great experiences with Sonnet Technologies. Customer service, quality of product and quality/speed of shipping have always been top-notch. Sure, you can find a different SATA card for $10 to $20 less, but you won't get the level of support that you get from Sonnet.

I'll second Sonnet. I have one of their ATA cards in my Mac.
