i have an original imac G3, it has no airport slot and i need help getting it hooked up to a wireless connection. There is a slot above the RAM slots, not sure what it is. We have a wireless fiber optic modem, does anyone know if there is a way to pick up the wireless signal and hook it up directly with an ethernet cable? is there an adapter for that? i would appreciate anyone's input. thanks- ian

Just for future reference, that slot above the RAM slots is the "mezzanine slot" -- back in the day, there were 3rd party companies that made add-on video cards and the like for that slot.

Basically, it was an expansion slot for various things that Apple never used. One company made a graphics card that could go in there, but you'd be hard-pressed to find one of those today.

didn't the g3 imacs have a slot that an airport card could go in with an adaptor? or is this imac too old?
