Help on changing icon!!! Problem!

ive been changing my icons on my mac, i even followed instructions but then when i change the icon im left with the word PNG. HELP! can someone help me!!

Highlite the png letteres and type in jpg. It will ask you if you want to save it as jpg; say yes and it should stay as jpg.

If you simply want to remove the PNG icon from the Firefox bundle, highlight the PNG icon at the top of the "Get Info" window and press 'delete'.
 
eldiablo--you are right on--can you confirm my bit of advice if right or wrong for me.?

hey guess thanks for the advice but it didnt seem to work, i have the same problem but now it just says jpeg. still no icon picture.
 
Changing the extension from PNG to JPG won't accomplish what you're trying to do -- that's like changing the extension from .DOC to .XLS to try and make a Word document turn into an Excel document.

A PNG and a JPG are not the same.

If you want to use the actual PNG image for the icon, then open the PNG image in Preview.app, select the entire image, select "copy", then do a "Get Info" on Firefox, highlight the icon, and paste.
