Help - Tiger will not boot after latest patch

Patience -- after this recent update (10.4.3), it may take up to 10 minutes for the computer to boot normally. This is due to disk checks and verification procedures taking place.
It would be very unwise to interrupt this process -- interrupting this process could lead to disk or operating system corruption, rendering your system REALLY unbootable and possibly requiring a reinstall of Mac OS X.
Again, while it may appear to be stuck, it most likely is not stuck and is taking a long time to boot, which is normal. My system stayed on the gray screen for the better part of 15 minutes before continuing normally. Subsequent restarts were back to a normal amount of time.
