Help with transferring iTunes & iPhoto

I have an iMac that I've used primarily for the last few years and I just got a used iBook G4 so I could take my work on the road. However, I would at least like to get my iTunes and iPhoto libraries on it. What is the best way to do that?

Simply copy them over into the correct place -- you can do this with CDs, DVDs, flash drives, external hard drives, wired networking, wireless networking, or any number of other transfer mediums.

So I guess fire-wire would be the easiest and fastest. Any special tip or tricks to it? When I connect the two, will they just show up as "networked" in Finder?
