help with wireless internet

All right, so we have two macs. the original one is a powerpc G4 running 10.3.9 and the newer one is a G5. the original is hooked up to the internet through a standard DSL modem or "built-in ethernet" as the network status panel calls it.
we installed a wireless card in the new G5 and bought a wireless router, which i hooked up to the older computer and the old DSL gateway box. it worked fine for awhile, the connection on the newer comp would drop occassionly but it normally fixed itself.
however, as of last night, the G5 can't access the internet. when you go to the network diagnostics panel, a box comes up saying "a change in the network has been detected" or something like that. now it asks whether we hook to the internet via DHCP or PPoe, when we select DHCP it just tells us to restart the device, which we have done to no avail.
If anyone knows what can be done, I would really appreciatte the help!!!!

the wireless router is an "Airplues Extreme G Wireless Router", it also says "D-Link" on the front.
I'm not sure about the card since we didn't install it ourselves.

Click on the blue Apple in the top left hand corner. When the windows pops up click on the words "More Info". This then will launch a program called system Profiler (the applications is in /Applications/Utilities/system Profiler) and if you look through that program you will find words (on the left column) for the Airport Card. highlight this and it will then tell you what model wireless card you have.
