How can I tell if logic board is new?

Hi, I have just bought a used ibook G3 800, which claims to have had the logic board replaced under apple's repair program. Without documents is there any way to find out if this has indeed happened?

The machine is working fine apart from no iphoto program strangely. thanks

You could try mailing Apple Support with the serial number. They should be able to tell you if it has had a replacment logic board.

iPhoto is only included with the iLife suite of applications, which is included free with new computer purchases (and also available separately for a small price from Apple). If the former owner of the iBook wiped the hard drive and installed OS X fresh from a set of retail CDs/DVDs, then iPhoto will not be there.

thanks for those replies. I'll check with support. Can you recommend any photo handling shareware, just for viewing and organising, no editing needed.

thanks

john
