How do I import addresses from hotmail.

this stumps me also, i think the key here is also importing contacts from MSN messenger. msn can export the contact list, but it's not a file format that mail will recognise.
any ideas anyone?

What application (and what is its version number) are you using to receive and view your 'Hotmail' e-Mail messages?
What application (and what is its version number) are you trying to import the e-Mail addresses to?
Also, providing the specific 'System' or 'MacOS X' version, would be nice.

with Hotmail, i would assume you are using it web-based. the question he asked was simply 'is there a way?'.

Nor, was is it stated in the original post ... 'is there a way?'. Explicitly stated was 'How do I import addresses from hotmail.'. As such, a process is being requested, not a 'yes' / 'no' question being asked. Thus, in order to present a possible process, further information would be required.

as far as i know, there is no way to do it, because hotmail is web based. in fact i have never been able to get my contacts from any of my web based accounts. but...it is not impossible, and there is a round about way to get them, and it will only work IF you have saved all your emails. set the http mail Mail plugin to download and keep all your hotmail emails. then when it connects, it will download them all. now when you open each of the emails, click on the names of the sender/reciever and tell it to add to your contacts (address book). this a very long time consuming way, but as of right now, its the only way i know of.
