How to choose a linux flavour ?

Thanks rbb and nixgeek (who I see uses slackintosh). My linux (and in particular, bash) learning curve has been very steep. Using a machine with absolutely no gui at all has really helped !

I'm looking into swaret and slapt-get right now...

HheeHe...Good eye. ;) Actually, I haven't used Slackintosh, mainly because I was hoping that development would continue and when version 10 came out, I would have installed it. However, it looks as though development has halted on Slackintosh. I have had thoughts about working on a PPC port of Slackware, but I just don't have the time (wife and kids...you know...that ol' chestnut.. :p). The other worry is Pat's health and continued development for the official version of Slack. I'm sure nothing would cease with only a short delay thanks to the many Slackers out there, but who knows.

I am actually using Debian "sid" on my Motorola StarMax 4000 MT. Took me a bit, but I finaly have it up and running. I also am going to download MDK 10.1 for PPC and test that. If I get everything working like I want, I will compile Wired and see if that will work for my music production.
