How to convert drm-protected divx video for viewing when offline?

Okay, I have a DRM-protected DIVX version of Batman Begins. It only plays in the DIVX player and if I want to watch it I need to be connected to the net so the player can confirm that I have the right to view it, I guess.

I'm going to be on a flight in the near future where I won't have access to the internet but I'd like to be able to watch the video. Is there any way to do this? None of my video encoding apps seems to be able to handle the transcoding of the file into something that will play in Quicktime or VLC or anything else.

I have no desire to distribute the video in any way, shape or form. I just want to be able to watch it in-flight. Can I either transcode the file or simply force the player to bypass that startup check?

I have Handbrake and tried it. Looks like it's working but it takes forever and when it's finally done the resulting file is a mess - the audio is usually fine but the video is completely scrambled.

iVI, on the other hand, is a new one to me. Guess I could give it a shot. :)

Thanks.
