How to print on a B&W serial-port?

I try to print to my Stylewriter 1200, connected to the B&W G3 's serial port, to no available result.
I'm using OS-X 2.3.
Print center won't see the stylewriter. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your input,

My only suggestion is to install Gimp Print and see what happens, it's a long shot but it's worth a try. I have a feeling that Gimp Print may not even display the ADB port as an available connection, if not then the last resort would be to get an ADB -> USB adaptor (if possible).

Thankyou for the correction on the adb :).
I can't find anny details on the Apple Developpers site. Annyone a sugestion how to find info on this subject?

Keyspan They have a Serial to USB adapter that will work in OS X with your printer.

But since the adapter is &79.00, you'd be better off buying a new printer for less than $100.00.

Yes, thank you all for your sugestions :)

Still, OS-X doesn't see the serial port. How do i open the serial port?

Greetings,

Huby

Your printer has a serial cable, yes? The only legacy port that the B&W G3 has is an ADB port, it doesn't have any serial ports. These two ports look similar I think but are not the same. Trying to connect a serial printer to an ADB port wont work, as far as I know.

The only way this printer will work in OS X is with a Serial to USB adapter.

Wow!! Thank you all. :)
Yes g3joel you're right: the port in my G3 is indeed an aded GeeThree serial port: I didn't knew this until you remarked this.
I installed the Geethree driver, but it's now recognized as a Modem, not as a serial port.
It won't recogbize my Midi-interface neighter, so what am I doing wrong?
I think that bobw's solution is the only option: Ill get a Keyspan tomorrow from my work, and keep you posted, but Yaeh, a new printer wil be much easier...
If the Keyspan works, annyone knows if the Stylewriter will be recognized automaticly by OS-X, or do I need a driver? if yes, where does one find such a driver?
Thank you again all for your Input,
Greetings from a sunny and snowy France,

Go to Keyspan.com and it will tell you how to connect it. You have to connect it to a certain port on the adapter.
