How to replace icon for .doc files?

I have Pages set as the default app to open .doc files. The icon is just plain white and I'd like it to use the Pages icon "Pages_Doc.icns" instead. Can someone tell me how to do this? I use EyeCandy, but that only seems to work to change the main icon of the app.

I've tried dragging it to the big icon in the Get Info box in finder, but that didn't make any changes.

click on the small icon at the top of the "get info", this will highlite it.
Now try pasting your icon of choice on top of this one.

Doesn't work for you? Do you have Candybar or some other third party hack installed?

1) Save a blank Pages file to the desktop.
2) Do a Finder->Get Info (command button+i) on the file.
3) when the Get Info pane pops up highlight the icon in the top left hand corner.
4) The Finder->Edit->Copy (command button+c)

Then find all you Word files and highlight them all at once. Then do another Finder->Get Info on all the highlighted Word files. All the Get Info buttons will now pop-up.

5) Click in the top left hand window (you will have to do this on all the pop-ups) and then do a Finder->Paste (command button+v).

The icon you first copied will stay in your Clipboard until you copy something again, shutdown or restart.
