How to Uninstall the Unresponsive

Hello, I just received my mom's old MacBook and I'm still getting used to it.
Apparently my cousin downloaded LimeWire while she was using it last week; I really want to uninstall it, but it is 'Not Responsive' and keeps showing the swirly rainbow cursor. I dragged it to the bottom of the screen and now I can't bring it back up.
I want to uninstall it, but I don't know how.
I'd really appreciate help.
Thanks

You can't "uninstall" a program that is still running.

Use the force-quit dialog (right-click on the icon in the Dock, select "Force Quit") to force the app to quit, then drag the application file itself (probably located in /Applications) to the trash.
