HP driver wanted

Howdy folks:

For some reason, Hewlett Packards's website doesn't have a download page for the HP DeskJet 820 CXi PC drivers. Click on the link and all it gives me is the installation procedure.

Does anyone here have the Windows XP version of this driver they can e-mail to me? I need to get into the thing on my PC and explain to someone how to install it and how it works!

Thanks

Just looked at the HP support site for downloads for your DeskJet 820Cxi. Look again, there is good info about WindowsXP and this printer, There is no download for Windows XP, drivers are loaded simply by attaching printer to system. WinXP takes care of driver internally. There is a manual install, but no other software needs to be installed, except from the WinXP CD if it is needed.. Go to this link http://www.hp.com/cgibin/cposupport/swindex.pl?p=dj820cx&l=en&c=MicrosoftWindowsXP

Thanks, but the person concerned has only recently discovered that 'downloading' isn't the same as 'installing'. Tech specs would bring on the faze.

I'll see if the owners can e-mail me the driver on their machine - I was trying to avoid having to go that route. I spend probably an hour a week on the telephone explaining to PC users how to do things that are so flipping simple on a Mac.:D

By the way, that link came up with 'The page you requested can not be found'. Was that a link on HP's site?

Thanks for looking around, anyway!

[EDIT] Sorry, I've now got the gist of the installation thang - yeah, I only just noticed it's part of Whinedoes system stuff. Microslop don't like making things easy!
