I can't install iTunes

Yesterday I got a message to upgrade my iTunes from 4.5 to 4.6 however when I ran the update it didn't install it. So I figured it was confused about iTunes soI deleted iTunes.app completely. However after that it still didn't install iTunes and still doesn't.

I deleted all iTunes prefs I could find figuring that would reset the counter to nothing. Somehow there is still atrace of iTunes 4.5 or something saying my mac already has itunes 4.6.

Anybody had this problem and know how to fix it?
Any secret preferences I need to delete?

Go into the Receipts folder here

Library>Receipts

drag the Itunes Receipt to the desktop, don't trash, then try installing.
 
tjek... I fixed it.
First I tried what you said but only worked after deleting the receipts and rebooting my mac. In case anybody else has this problem that's the way to fix it

Glad to have that fixed, now I'll be able to download u2 on the iTunes music store as soon as it goes live in Hollanda!!!! Thx bobw
