iBook Beebs and flashes me

Hello,

My boss brought his iBook in because it was freezing up on him. I just started to take a look at it and the problem seems worse than my boss my have thought.

I booted using just the AC power, no battery nothing happens...
I hold the power button in for about 10 seconds and then it does a 2 second beep (not the apple chime) and then flashes a white light from the front of the system (by the latch) about 12 times very fast.

After this, it sometimes chimes and starts to load OS X.
I tried a different stick of memory and booting from a CD without any luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions or is this system toast?
 
hold down the apple+ctrl+r+p keys on startup, let it chime for 3 times then let go of the keys then hold down the apple+ctrl+o+f, in the white screen type the following reset-all hit return the mac will reboot, see what happens.

If this fails find the Mac install disk, put it in the drive and hold the c ket when booting see if the mac boots, then repair permissions in the tools, diskutils.
