ibook g3 sleep but want to charge ipod

just want to know if there is a setting to change of software to put on my ibook to keep the firewire port working and charge my 3g ipod -- while the ibook is in sleep mode ( when i close the screen)

any help would be great

Nope... sleep is sleep, and when the 'book is sleeping, everything's sleeping. It's a low-power mode, and if the FireWire ports kept spitting out juice, that wouldn't be low-power.

When the 'book is asleep, all the ports are asleep, too, and won't provide charge enough to charge an iPod.
