iCal URL

I get this message on my desk top about URL when trying to refresh the calendars for mobile me. I recently upgraded my mac laptop to the new IOS and lion, but my desktop is too old (dual processor).

The calendar https://cal.me.com:8443/principals/users/1.140715165/ was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct.

Did you upgrade from MobileMe to iCloud?

Yes, I upgraded on all of my other devices, but my desktop imac is too old - it won't let me upgrade. Tried to register the computer but it never would

Old iCal URLs are no longer valid for calendars that have been moved to iCloud. If it makes you feel any better, I've got an older iPod touch that won't take iOS 5 and I'm experiencing the same issue (as well as some mac.com/me.com email issues).

So, I guess I can't check my ical from my desk top because it doesn't sync with other systems. This must be a way for Apple to make us buy newer machines.

You can check your iCal from your desktop -- just don't add a "MobileMe" or mac.com calendar -- instead, add a "CalDAV" calendar and use the URL explained in the link above.
