Icons become scattered after each startup

The icons in my "/" and "/Applications" directories will not keep the view options I set for them. They become disorganized every time I start my Mac.

The icons in "/" become a jumbled mess. It's ridiculous.

The icons in "/Applications" appear grid-locked but aren't.

The size of the icons in both folders also shrink to 32x32.


Little help? Any way of fixing this without using individual view options?

Sounds like the finder's preference file may be corrupt. Just mosey over to ~/Library/Preferences/ and take the file com.apple.finder.plist and drag it to your Trash can. Then reboot and once you are back in empty the Trash. Then go to the Finder menu and select preferences and reset them to the way you want them to be. This hopefully will fix your problem.
