Illustrator 10 Install Problem

Trying to install Adobe illustrator 10 on my macbook, running OS X 10.5.6

First of all i get an error that "a valid classic environment wasn't detected", I got this when installing Photoshop as well but the rest of the installation went swimmingly. However, with the Illustrator install it then allows me to put in my product code but then i get an error saying that "the application InstallerVISE quit unexpectedly" and doesn't allow me to install.

Please can someone help me out with this, I'd be forever grateful!

You will be wasting your time. Adobe has a support article from 2007, stating that older versions of their software may not work with Leopard. Your Illustrator version 10 is 4 full versions behind the current CS4 version (which would be version 14). Adobe will not provide fixes to get it work on Leopard systems.
Your first clue is the "a valid classic environment wasn't detected" error. Leopard does not support the Classic environment at all. And, no Intel Mac will support the Classic environment directly.

Bottom line - you won't be able to use that version of Illustrator on your new Mac running Leopard. You will need a (PPC) Mac that has 10.4.x or older, and you will need that Classic (MacOS 9) environment installed.

Deltamac, I feared as much, but it's always nice to clarify. However, I seemed to find a way around it - don't know it's worked :S
