I'm at my wits end!

O.K. Please do these steps in your original User account to see why the application crashes ONLY on your account.

1. Open /Applications/Utilties/Console
2. Once Console is open click on the word "Logs" in the top left hand corner of the console application. Then all the logs will show, make sure the 'console.log is highlighted.
3. Do NOT close Console. Let it keep running and do any more actions before doing step 4.
4. Launch the crashing application. Once the program crashes switch back to the Console application and read the very last entry.
5. Post the last actions in the Console log to you next entry. This action will let us all know why the affected application crashes.

Additional note about Console:
There is also a "crashreporter.log in the Console application. Once console is open click on the arrow symbol beside the /var/log. Look for the words that popup below for crashreporter.log and highlight that entry. It will list all the latest crash logs too.

This is what appears on there after it crashes. I included one from last ngiht too. Thanks for all your help guys!

Try reseting the printing system from "Printer Setup Utility", under that application's menu.
If that doesn't work, try deleting the printers that are configured with the "Printer Setup Utility".
Also, make sure that you have the latest updates..

I wonder if the solution is going to be something really stupid and trivial. ahahahahha I think looking at the crash log though, it might have to do with the printing thing. I don't have any printers set up on my MAC BOOK though.

See if this OS X hint helps. Also try this hint: "If that doesn't work, go to your user Library folder and delete the Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator 10 folder and then try reinstalling it.".

Did you ever boot into single user mode and run fsck? I think the command you want is probably fsck -fy. (The y option tells the computer to repair the disk automatically.) This is the way I always run it. Alternatively, you can boot from the OS X install DVD/CD and use Disk Utility to "repair disk" repeatedly until you get a message telling you that the volume is OK.

Apologies if you did this already, but I can't see anywhere where you specifically mention doing so, so I thought it worth mentioning.

will this screw up my files some how? :eek:S I'm scared to do it because I understand MACS but not in a "Technical" kind of way.
