iMac Panic Message

Hello,

I am randomly, but often, getting a screen that pops up and says that I must restart my computer. When this happens and I restart, it will only succesfully boot maybe 1 in 15 times. When it does finally boot I get a panic report which I have attached -- it was "unrepsonsive processor". Can anyone analyze this report and give a recommendation of where to start?

Thanks
Jeff

A kernel panic may often be caused by hardware. Try booting to your hardware test. That's on one of your original restore DVDs (the set of 2 grey disks that came with your iMac) The hardware test will be listed on the label of one of those disks. Put that disk in the drive, then restart while holding the letter D on your keyboard. Be sure to run both the basic test, and the extended test, then come back with the results. Be sure to disconnect any external devices first, except your Apple keyboard and mouse.

I should have mentioned in the original post that I did run both the regular and extended hardware tests with no issue. I also ran the hard drive check and found no problems. All external devices were disconnected besides keyboard USB.

Thanks
Jeff
