I have a PB 12" and OSX 10.4.2 with 768 MB Ram and an external Maxtor 250 GIG HD connected via USB

I am using Sony MegaPixel DCRPC105 HandyCam connected directly to the firewire port

When I try to Import video - it imports the first 3 - 4 seconds, then freezes, then stops importing.

I never had this problem before - what could be causing this now? Any ideas?

Hmmm... that camera isn't on the list of "officially" supported DV cameras under Mac OS X:

Are you capturing directly to the USB drive, or to your internal drive? If USB, can you try capturing directly to your internal ATA hard drive?

found the problem - can't export to usb external HD - i lost my firewire HD a couple of weeks ago - and when i tried importing to the USB HD is when all the trouble began - went in to local apple store and we tested it on an external USB - repeated problem - then we tried it on the internal HD - worked like a charm - problem is that HD is full - so i need to get another firewire HD - bummer. thanks for replying.
