import dvd to OSX Photos

I'm using latest OSX on MacBook Pro and I'm going to interesting to import some dvd to Photos, It's possible?
Dvd contains amateur video infact It has AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS directories.
Dvd is not indestructible so I want to save video to my archive.

Well you will have to buy a n Optical Drive. Apple has one. So does OWC. Then it should be easy to move the files to the Mac.
 
Can you use it with your Mac? Is this just an audio device? You need a drive that will read your DVDs.
 
I think you can simply import the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders on your DVD to Photos.
Choose Import under the File menu, then browse to your DVD. Should work.

But, do you not have iMovie? That's a more suitable app to use for videos - and you can edit your movies in iMovie, too.
