Increase time before FF6 update starts

When you click on "Check for updates" with FF6, if there is an update available, Firefox now starts downloading the update almost immediately. Is there any way to increase the time elapsed before that download starts?
 
FF6 does not have a menu item for update checking.
That would be in your About FireFox window, right?

FireFox updates are usually quite small, and complete within a few seconds, or a minute at most. If you don't want to update at that time, then don't check for updates, eh? Set your own delay, by waiting until you are ready :D

But, you may be able to modify the update behavior in FireFox preferences/Advanced/Update tab. Change the update option to "Ask me what I want to do"
 
That is no go. That option is greyed out, since I disabled the app updates in all three settings in about:config. I guess a quick check is out now. At least nothing happens if I do not check for updates.
