Infuriating <?> in leiu of images

What application?
What version of Mac OS X?
Are you a man or a bot? Which one is a cuter, a kitten or a peecee from 1980s?
Where or when do you get that message?
If iit's a generic browser thing, then usually those ? pictures don't exist or you can't load them. Or you are browsing with images off.

Usually that happens when there is an img src tag to a file that doesn't exist. Or that is remote hot linked while the site it's hosted at doesn't like hotlinking.
Can you give any particular example so maybe can test if those pages you get the "?" show correctly for others?
