Install Help Needed Asap!!!!

long story short.....i had 3 partitions, the boot partition was not large enough. I backed up all my data, then inserted the install disc and rebooted. a recent convert from the windows world; i'm way too familiar with OS reinstalls. anyways, for this reinstall, i needed to resize my existing partitions, BUT FORGOT HOW!!! i thought there was a key command you had to hold down while the mac rebooted??? how can i access this function, that disc utility normally doesn't allow??? please help me soon!!!

You cannot resize partitions with the Mac OS X Install CD/DVD nor Disk Utility.

You can use something like iPartition (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/23828) to resize partitions; however, I always recommend against resizing partitons, opting instead for a full backup, full reformat/repartition, and then full reinstall.

my intention was for a full reformat/reinstall. after digging around a bit, i found the solution to my problem! the disc utility function, while running the install from disc, allowed me to create new partitions. now i wipe the sweat from my brow...
