Installing Xclaim Vr Video Card

I'm having trouble installing an ATI XClaim VR card on my G4 Quicksilver, I think it might be the adaptor I'm using. My monitor is a VGA Proview PV-772IM 17" color monitor, the VGA to Apple adaptor I'm using is a 15DM/HF-10P and I can't figure out which number combo to use for my monitor. When I hook it up to the new card the screen is in B&W and I let me do anything, no mouse pointer, nothing. Does this adaptor even support my monitor or is it trouble with the card. Can anyone help, please?
