Intel Gigabit Ethernet on Mac?

I want to get a Gigabit PCI ethernet card working in my mac. I know that the Intel cards are supported on the G4 when using FreeBSD and I have heard whispers of their being drivers for this thing under OS X but yet to find anything.

Can anyone offer any advice or help??

Just plug it in. Make sure you are running 10.2 or better. The drivers for most cards are built in unless you bought the card from Jim Bob's Pawn Shop or worse.

Tried that.. and got Nada.. nothing.. zip.

It didnt even show up in the system profile.

The card is brand new, in the box from intel. Its not a specific mac version if their is such a thing. It was brought through a Wintel vendor.

There is a company making drivers for ten-gigabit ethernet cards from intel, if that helps. not sure about the company name though
