I have a 1.83 Ghz intel core 2 Duo 17in imac. While it was on and working it suddenly went dead. No power no light. I checked the power cord and power outlet.

When you checked the power cord and power outlet, what did you find?

i guess the question is "what happened?" or something. i'd say the power supply is dead and needs replacing.
