Iomega HD permissions

Hello,,
I have an Iomega HD (IHD) and two Macs. I can write things on my IHD at the office, but when I get at home it says I don´t have the permissions to write.
Then I went to the"Obter informações menu" ( I guess in english is Ask informations, or Obtain informations Menu ) and I change there the permissions to write and it still doesn´t work.
What kind of partitions must I have to work at least on all Maccintosh?

PS .At the office I´m using the IHD to make back ups on TimeMachine

thanks very much for your time

Under Get info/sharing and permissions, authenticate and check the box "ignore ownership on this volume".

First of all thanks for your help, but under the "get info" button it doesn´t have the ignore ownership on this volume". Should it appear when I right click the IomegaHD icon?

The "Get Info" window should appear if you right-click on the drive icon and select "Get Info."

Then, in the resulting "Get Info" window that opens, check "Ignore ownership on this volume."

Normally, this option is not available for Time Machine disks. A Time Machine drive should not be used for transporting other kinds of data. If you wish to do this, then your best option would be to format the external drive (which destroys all data, BTW) and create two partitions on it: one for Time Machine, and another for data you wish to transport between computers.

Thanks! The thing is, I use TimeMachine on my office ( this HD is only for Timemachine ), but when I get home sometimes I like to work on some files that I´m carrying on the HD.
Is it possible to do this using the Timemachine?

Note: the timemachine is only running on my office, not at home
