IP vs. Apple Talk

I have all mac computers, but have a little trouble with the printers behaving. We are on OS 10.4 and our tekkie dude set us up with IP printing. I think we have more problems with that than we should.

BTW -- the printers we use are Xante aw1200.

Thoughts?
 
Sometimes the printer just won't print. It sends to print and it just can't find it.

Would apple talk be more stable or is IP printing through ethernet still better?
 
Well, your printer's manual recommends you set it up through Appletalk.

Normally, IP printing isn't a huge problem, though some printers I've set up via IP don't recognize the correct driver. I'd actually recommend Bonjour, if your printer supports it.
