has anyone solved the disappearing photos problem in iphoto 5 yet? Luckily I have a copy of most of my photos on my desktop imac in iphoto 4 and the problem does not exist there.The problem is in the photos in iphoto 5 on by 17 inch powerbook laptop.

Can you provide a link or some information on this specific problem? You speak of it as if it were a well-known problem, but so far neither sinclair_tm nor I have heard of it... perhaps if you could point us to an article that describes the problem, we can become better acquainted with it and help you troubleshoot it.
 
seemed like in that apple thread, the main posts were 4 months old, and some were solved by reinstalling qt, rebuilding iphoto lib, and learning not to muck around in the iphoto folder. have you tryed any of the above? (well, not the mucking around thing)
