ipod cuts songs short

hey. I have a 4 gig ipod nano that randomly cuts some songs short. It will play the song, but end it before the song is finished. It doesnt happen with every song or everytime i listen, but it happens quite frequently. I have restored my ipod (totally erased it) and it doesnt change anything. Does anyone know why this might be happening or what can be done to stop it? Thanks.

Does it happen to certain MP3/AAC files, or does it happen to all of them? If it only happens to a select few files, they may be corrupted.

i guess it only happens to a few of them, but they play fine in every other player, including itunes. its just when i am playing them on the ipod. wierd.
