iPod mounting problem

Hi, I'm using a Mac Mini with Tiger and I need to have my iPod accessable as a drive because I use it to move files. Its only available as a drive for like 5 seconds when I connect it (iTunes syncs) then it disconnects. Does anyone know how to leave the iPod mounted?

In the "iPod" pane of iTunes' Preferences, check "Enable Disk Use."

Or, tell iTunes NOT to auto-launch when an iPod is connected, and the iPod will always mount as a disk when you connect it.
