iPod shuffle won't connect

Hey any body that can help me,
my ipod shuffle wont connect to iTunes but I can see it on the browse window, its not on the desktop though. Its as if its locked or something. Anyone had a problem like this before...
please help!

There was a recent iPod Software Updater released that addressed some problems with the iPod shuffle. Have you given that a try?

Could it be dead? I just replaced my second one today. Does it still play for you?
