"iPoding" my Acura

H2OSX

iKnow (sometimes)
After the whole iPod your BMW thing came out I was thinking, it wouldnt be so hard to do that to my car. All I would have to do is open the empty slot meant for a cd player in my car and use the cables there to connect to my iPod. Now the only trouble is the actual connection to the iPod. I was wondering if anyone else has had this idea and made it work, or know how to connect it so you can get good sound. i was thinking about takin the cables from an old set of headphones, and soldering those wires to the ones in the car, im not sure itll work tho. Help please!

"It will... but it will not load your iPod."
By that do you mean it will play the music but i wont be able to use any seperate controler type thing? cuz all i want is the sound so that'd be fine

I would highly recommend getting an aftermarket head unit (CD/radio unit) that has an auxiliary port in the front (a headphone jack, but for sound IN, not OUT). My Panasonic head unit has one, and the quality beats any other solution out there.

Then, head on down to CompUSA or Radio Shack or Fry's and get a 1/8" minijack to 1/8" minijack cable and you're good to go. Forget the soldering iron altogether.

Or, another option would be to look for a head unit with RCA jacks for line-in operation, then get a 1/8" minijack to RCA cable and run the cable to the back of the unit.

Yeah. I agree with Diablo. My Acura 2.2 CL is pretty easy to mess around with...what kind do you have? My old Volvo was such cake, I put TVs in the dashboard and hooked up NES! Go for it.
