Is Handbrake the best video converter for Mac?

I know many people may speak highly of Handbrake. I just want to get the best video converter for my new Mac Mini (packed with Mountain Lion). When searching the best video converter, I find one article comparing three free video converters including Handbrake, iSkysoft video converter and macx video converter free edition. How do you choose? Do you still stick to Handbrake?

If you are looking for free software - Handbrake continues to be free (and works very well)
The other two that you mentioned are NOT free - just free downloads. They can be tested for free, but need to be purchased for full use.

I updated Handbrake to the latest version but it cracks when running on Mountain Lion. I have tried the last two software, the iSkysoft software seems like the trial version but the macx software is free. Anyway, I will try the app you told me. Thanks!

I prefer Handbrake because it can backup all my Blu-rays as well.

I too like Handbrake software of video converter for Mac platform. It’s free and additionally most of the settings are already preset for us. But it doesn’t work well on Mavericks and Mountain Lion OS X versions.
