Is my 23" back leg broken???

I just got a used 23" cinema display. It seems ok but I cant figure out this back leg. It seems that the spring on the back leg wants to push the leg away from the screen only. So this causes my screen to tilt all the way back when sitting on my desk. Isnt there some way to get it to tilt a little more towards me?

Hmmm... when you "pull" the screen back down toward you, is the tension in the spring so great that the monitor gets pulled backward again? I would think that the weight of the display would be able to hold itself downward even with the spring, but if the hinges were abnormally loose, I could see how it would keep tipping backward.

Yeah its like the hinge will only push back/outward. If I pull the hinge towards the front of the display it just springs right back to the furthest backward position thus making the screen tilt back.

Hmmm... it may have a faulty hinge on it, then -- did you purchase it refurbished from somewhere? You may want to see if they'll exchange it or repair it. Refurbished items should carry at least some warranty.

Yeah I was affraid it might be something like that. No it was purchased 2nd hand, but promised to be in "brand new" condition.
