Is there a way to increase the size of the mouse pointer ???

My mom has just started to use a computer !!
Of course, I set her up with a mac !

Problem is, she has impaired vision and has a hard time locating the mouse pointer on the screen.

Is there any way to increase the size of the pointer beyond that which is allowed by OS X ?

Sure, If you have Jaguar or newer, check out Universal Access pref pane, this has a zoom function that's great for vision impaired.
 
Wow Thanks DeltaMac! I swithed black and white and I enjoy my new colors!! It looks like a whole new theme. Never saw that...

Great !! thanks.. I checked it out but the implementation of zoom is not - in my opinion- very user–friendly..

I think a bigger mouse pointer would be much better !!
she can read what is motionless on the screen.. the mouse pointer is hard for her to spot.
