iTunes 4.8 Eject confusion?

Hey, I downloaded iTunes 4.8 onto Mac OS X Panther 10.3.9

When ever I plug my iPod Photo in, it's all dandy, and if I click the eject icon next to the iPod name in the Source list, it ejects.

But if I use my iPod shuffle, and eject, the Combo drive ejects instead. If there's no CD, it won't do anything.

Any idea what's going on?

As far as I know (I don't have a shuffle), the shuffle doesn't show up in the source list with your playlists at the left like the regular iPod does, right? I assume that the Eject button in the lower-right corner of iTunes is for ejecting devices that appear in the source list, like a CD or a regular iPod. Since nothing shows up over there for the shuffle, the default action is to eject the tray of the CD device...

...is that close?

The iPod Shuffle does show up on the source list. And I am actually clicking the button next to it.

But that's certainly not a bad try for a person without a Shuffle.

Here's a pic.

Hmm... gremlins! That's the only explanation I can come up with... sorry! ;)

That's a strange problem... zapped PRAM and all that good stuff?
