Itunes And Quicktime Won't Start In Osx

For some reason my iTunes and Quicktime has stopped working in OSX 3.9. They work when I go into OS9. I've tried updating them but still nothing. Can you help me?

What version of iTunes? What version of QuickTime? Instead of updating them, have you tried re-installing them?
