ITunes not burning cd's

I have imac w OS 10.2.8 and Itunes 6.....When I try to burn a cd-r of music(mp3 format) I get an error and my disc pops out and I cannot burn...I changed in preferences to 6x burn speed and even 4x and that didn't solve...Any help?...Thanks
 
What are you using to burn? Toast or the Finder. Does it happen when you're trying to burn data CDs, or just music?
 
Have you burned using that particular disc before? Sometimes I find certain discs are not as mac friendly as others. Try resetting your PRAM and run disk utility to repair permissions.
