iTunes Playlist and Meta-data

Hi

Question - I can see where songs can have information such as Album, Year, and rating, but if a playlist has 10 songs I have to set these values on every song even if they are in the same playlist.

Isn't there someway to set these values on the playlist and have all the song inherit these attributes.

I want to treat the Playlist as an album or concert. How to do this?

Those are ID3 tags -- different from meta data -- and they are stored in the MP3/AAC file itself.

If you want to change multiple ID3 tags at once, simply select all the songs in the playlist and do a "Get Info" on all of them (Command - I). Any fields you put a check mark next to and change will be changed for all the selected songs.

As far as I know, there's no automatic way to have an ID3 tag changed when a song is added to a playlist, but you can change all the tags at once using the method above.

Be careful with that method, though -- if you click "Album" and change it to something that's not correct, there's no undo command. You just changed it for all the files selected.
