iTunes won't run for me!

I was downloading a podcast, ejected the ipod from itunes, removed the ipod and itunes locked up. I had to force-quit it twice, and when I got back into it I got this error msg:

The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file.

I have run repair permissions and logged out and back in again.

I followed with adaptations to advice at this page:
http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20030102060845695

to no avail.

I have an eMac running the latest 10.4, with iTunes 7.5. My iPod is basically a CD until this is fixed. What is the best way to fix it?

Regards,

Mark Patterson

If you read the hint comments you posted there was some other suggestions including restarting the machine.

But you're never supposed to reboot a BSD system ;)

OK, I rebooted, and guess what -- it works again! I'm very pleased about that. Thanks for pointing me to the manual, so to speak.
